Although a Þorrablót dinner was not possible this year, we did have the opportunity to commemorate Þorrablót in our own modified way. As part of the regularly scheduled “Lunch-to-go” program at the Scandinavian Centre, we had a “Þorrablót” themed lunch on Sunday, March 14. It wasn’t a menu of traditional Þorrablót food but was a delicious take out sandwich and salad lunch prepared by Chef Michael of Bonne Cuisine and his crew. The menu included the choice of a salmon/shrimp or an egg/ham brauðterta with Nordic slaw and Icelandic potato salad with kleinur for dessert. Next take out meal at the Scandinavian Centre is an Easter TGIF dinner-to-go on March 26.
